AMMIL UNVEILS NEW SET OF TRACTORS IN OYO

The Ave Maria Multipurpose Investment LTD (AMMIL), an offshoot and investment holdings of Justice Development and Peace Movement (JDPM) of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo has recorded another breakthrough as His Lordship, Most Rev Dr Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo blessed three new tractors that was recently procured by the organization. Earlier, the microfinance institution bought a new tractor in 2020 and with the new development, the total number of tractors is now four (4). This is part of the efforts and vision of the institution in supporting farmers in Oyo Diocese.

While blessing the Tractors, Bishop Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo said if other religion bodies can emulate the Catholic Church in integral human development and poverty alleviation through a meaningful charity, the society would be a better place for all. He appreciated the vision and mission of AMMIL and its board members in complementing the state government efforts towards agricultural development in Oyo State, adding that the newly procured pieces of machinery would not only contribute to improved livelihood of the people but also increase the public trust in Catholic Church towards holistic development and agricultural transformation.

In his remark, the Director of AMMIL and JDPM Oyo, Rev Fr Gabriel Adeleke appreciated supports of Bishop Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo towards the idea generation and realization of the institution?s vision. He added that AMMIL is not leaving any stone unturned to make life better for farmers in Oyo Diocese.

According to Rev Fr Gabriel, one of the major priorities of AMMIL in 2021 is to reach more people in the area of improved investment culture and robust agricultural value chain which would make more impact in the life of the people through the elimination of the unnecessary bottleneck in accessing tractor for a farm operation. He said that currently, AMMIL is running tractor hiring services for farmers in Oyo and other neighbouring towns adding that with the new tractors in place, the dream just comes through because the service would now reach more towns and villages across Oyo and environs, Oke-Ogun especially Saki and Iwere-Ile axis as well as Ogbomoso respectively.
